This recall only applies to US owners of the 07 Civic Si 2 or 4 door who have previously paid for a reflash prior to July 16 2007.

At this point in time all known incorrectly programmed ECUs have been recalled.

The reason for this recall is that Hondata inadvertently installed the Canadian 07 Civic Si reflash which does not have the VSA (Vehicle Stability assist) function onto the 2007 US ECUs.

No other functions other than VSA are affected. No other reflashes other than the 07 Civic Si are affected.

The recall procedure is this:

- Customer will fill out this form
 -Customer will send the following items to directly to Hondata:

ECU
A signed copy of this form
 

On receipt Hondata will

- Reflash the ECU and return ship FEDEX overnight. Turnaround will be same day.
- Hondata will include a free K20Z3 heatshield gasket and refund check for $75.

Buyer releases Hondata, Inc. from any liabilities (expressed or implied, arising by law or otherwise) that may occur from the use of products sold by Hondata, Inc. and purchased by Buyer. These products are being sold for "Off Road/Competition Use" only and may be used only on vehicles used solely for "Off Road/Competition". No other applications are intended or implied. The Buyer of this product acknowledges and agrees that Seller disclaims any warranty and expressly disclaims any liability for personal injury or damages or any damages to vehicle or expensed occurred. In the event a manufacturer’s warranty exists, it is agreed and stated that under no circumstances shall the seller or manufacture be liable for any labor charged or travel time incurred in diagnosis for defects, removal, or reinstallation of this product, or any contingent expenses.  It is the Buyers responsibility to ensure the ECU flash program is not overwritten by anyone, including Honda, or any agent of Honda (including Honda/Acura dealers).  Exceeding the factory rev cut rpm may cause engine damage, which may not be covered by any factory warranty.
