Details
The K20A3-Si
program advances the ignition, alters the cam timing and optimizes the
fuel for a cold air intake, adding 4-9 ft lb across the rev range.
2002 Civic Si, stock and with
K20A3-Si Flash program.
- 10-12 Peak HP gain depending
on the dyno and modifications
- 4-9
ft lb torque across the rev range
- Power peak raised 400 rpm from
6300 rpm to 6700 rpm (higher with headers)
- Rev limiter raised to 7700
rpm.
- Fully dealer compatible -
works with all Honda scan tools and equipment.
- 0-60 mph times improved by 1
second.
What if you have modifications?
This program was tuned specifically for a CAI (cold air intake) as they give
the best power gains. All future tuning will be done with either the stock or CAI
intake.
Headers have been tested with this program.
Dyno charts can be found in the tech section (soon).
Test pipe. This will eventually give you an
engine check light telling you have a faulty catalytic converter. We have
not seen this error cause any power loss.
If you have nitrous this program will
probably not be suitable due to the aggressive ignition advance used.
For consistency in dyno testing we suggest
you follow the dyno
procedure outlined here.
Tuning notes
This tune for 91 octane pump gas. We have not tested it on 87. In the
graph above, the change in octane was worth about 2hp and the tuning 8-10.
Two cars were used for testing. A totally stock Civic Si, shown in the
graph above, and another with CAI and headers. Surprisingly the response
to the flash program on the dyno were very different. The second vehicle
showed marginal change on the dyno, yet the owner reported stronger part
throttle response and much improved top end. The dyno chart for the second
vehicle is below. This is the vehicle in which we measured a 1 second
improvement in the 0-60 times.

We suspect there is something not quite right. With a CAI, Flash and
headers it made the same or less power than a stock Civic Si with flash
under 5500 rpm.
Will this affect my warranty?
Any increase in RPM limit is at your own
risk. If you suffer engine damage that is related to excessive revs Honda
/ Acura will not cover your warranty.
With regard to aftermarket parts, the law is that warranty coverage
cannot be denied simply because such parts are present on the vehicle, or
have been used. For more details read the K
series FAQ.
Smog testing shows no measurable difference from stock.

My Hondata impressions....
Um....BUY IT NOW!!!!!! I just threw my ecu back in my car,and went for a
drive....WOW!!!!! The extra revs were REALLY needed with thius motor.3-4
upshift occurs at about 87-89 mph,and the car REALLY feels alive up top
now too.It feels like a stretched, smooth powerband with a few extra ponies
thrown in the mix....Im VERY happy, and will provide dynocharts
ASAP.IMHO,ANYONE who can afford it should just get it..It WILL be a must
have for these cars.It reminds me of my old b16 now, watching the tach go
to 7800ish Ill post more impressions shortly,i gotta DRIVE!!!!! Thanks to
the crew at Hondata for a GREAT product that everyone will love! "
Thanks
